Prayer flicking is one of the hardest mechanics to master in Old School RuneScape. Whether you're preparing for the Inferno, learning Nex, or just want to improve your switches, you need a way to practice without risking your HCIM status or burning through supplies.
Rigour Hero is a free browser game built for exactly this. It simulates prayer switching against real OSRS bosses with the same tick-based timing you'd face in-game. No download, no account required.
Play Now - FreeIn OSRS, protection prayers (Protect from Magic, Protect from Missiles, Protect from Melee) reduce incoming damage from the matching attack style. Prayer flicking is the technique of switching between these prayers rapidly to block attacks from enemies that use multiple combat styles.
The game runs on 0.6-second ticks. To prayer flick correctly, you need to have the right protection prayer active during the tick when the attack lands. In end-game content like the Inferno, you're switching between all three protection prayers every tick while managing movement, gear switches, and special attacks simultaneously.
Orbs fall down the screen, each representing an attack style:
Click the correct prayer icon before the orb reaches the hit zone. Chain correct switches to build combos for bonus XP. Miss one and your combo resets.
| Mode | Orb Damage | Lanes | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|---|
| Classic | 33 | 1 | You can take 3 hits. Great for learning the rhythm. |
| Challenge | 99 | 1 | One hit kills. Higher pet drop rates. The real test. |
| Impossible | 99 | 3 | Three lanes of orbs, one prayer at a time. Like Jad with Nex mechanics. |
| Hardcore Impossible | 99 | 5 | Five lanes. The ultimate prayer switching challenge. |
Every boss from OSRS end-game content is included. Each has unique sprites, arena backgrounds, and collectible pets:
Prayer switching is required for almost all end-game PvM content in OSRS:
The difference between a good PvMer and a great one is almost always prayer switching speed and accuracy. Rigour Hero lets you build that muscle memory without the 45-minute Inferno run to get one attempt at Zuk.

Every game starts with a server-issued seed that determines what attacks appear and when. On submit, the server replays your inputs against that seed. If the math doesn't match, the score is rejected. No client-side cheating is possible.
